| | Bass player and Brooklyn native Gene Janas is an avant garde/improviser artist. He has collaborated with Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Tim Berne Quartet, Sedition Ensemble with Bern Nix. He also worked with Phoebe Legere. His second life in music started with Owl Xounds Trio as Wire Magazine Winner 2005. Highlighted are his cooperations with Jeff Shurdut, Federico Ughi, Daniel Carter, Sabir Mateen, Gene Moore, Joe McPhee, Frode Gjerstad, Darius Jones, Lukas Ligeti. Since 2009 he works with Marc Edwards' Slipstream Time Travel. "Bound and Gagged" is his latest release (Improvising Beings CD 2012, Paris) performing with Jeff Shurdut and Marc Edwards. |
